Do you remember when you were a kid? There was a part of you that believed you could do anything, that believed you were invincible! There might have been outer “conditions” to say otherwise—like how much money your parents made, where you grew up, how good your educational system was, whether you were a boy or girl, black or white, your ethnicity or your religion. But there was a spark within you that knew how amazing you are and how much you could achieve because you believed.
Your days were spent visualizing what life would be like when you achieved your dreams. You were an adventurer, a cowboy, an astronaut, a mom or dad, a doctor, or, to be more practical, you were Superman or Wonder Woman or any other Superhero that caught our fancy. Anything and everything was possible as that spark within you grew and shone brightly in your mind.
So what happened? When did you stop believing you were Invincible and could achieve miraculous things?
Those powerful childhood visualizations were dismissed as fanciful daydreaming. You were told what you could expect from life because of the outer “conditions” of your life. You might even have been laughed at while people told you all the reasons your dreams were impractical or illogical. Even the people who had your best interests at heart—your family, teachers, and friends—were caught in the quagmire of what people could and should do.
Thus, word by diminishing word, your dreams and self-confidence were eroded and those words became ashes piled high to extinguish your flame.
Schools rewarded regurgitation of the concepts they taught. You received an “A” if you “threw up” the information as it had been fed to you. The creative thinkers, the dreamers, the questioners among you were likely to get Cs or Ds because you questioned what you were taught and thought there was a better way.
You might have started conforming to the current fad in clothing or speaking and mimicking others likes and dislikes, even when you didn’t agree. If you wanted to belong, you felt the pressure to conform. And more ashes were piled on the flame of dreams and possibilities you explored as children.
I could go on—the conformity of college and your job, raising a family, buying a home, paying off the financial and emotion debt incurred to conform and belong. That invincible kid with dreams and aspirations got lost somewhere along the way as the ashes of outside conditions and what’s practical continued to be heaped upon the flame of the invincible you.
I’m here to tell you
You’re still invincible!
You might not feel invincible, especially as you look at all you had hoped to achieve by this point in your life…but haven’t, or when you compare yourself with others who seem to have “it” all together.
But remember that Invincible Spark you came into this world with? Remember the flame that grew during your “everything’s possible” childhood visioning?
That spark is still there, and no amount of ashes piled on your childhood dreams by all the limiting words and expectations of others or outer “conditions,” can put out your flame.
If I were to ask you right now, “Are you invincible?” would you say, “Invincible? Hell, no! Don’t you see what the world is like? Don’t you understand my pain?”
What if I could show you how to regain your Invincible you and explode the mountain of ashes that tried to extinguish your flame?
Would that be worth a few hours of your time?
